Pearl received her first pair of hockey skates for Christmas, we think we'll wait a few years before introducing the stick and puck.
We had a wonderful visit with the Smets's up in Eau Claire, WI where Pearl was able to meet Marja and her family for the first time.
Ken's parents arrived for a visit on the 29th and we put them quickly to work shelling fresh pecans that we received from Marja and Bo - soon to be used to break in our new ice cream maker with toasted pecan ice cream, yum.
We told them that we needed 2 cups of pecans before they were allowed to hold their newest grandchild.
The sun came out and the temperature warmed up enough for Pearl's first snow hike in the woods behind our home.
Go Canada! Ken's sister Tara sent us some mittens so we can join in the Olympic fever. Amy and Pearl are honorary Canadians.
