Ken Graduates!

I finally got my husband back this week as he received his masters in product design and development from Northwestern University last Friday. It was an intense couple of years for him working full time while completing this intensive degree, but we're all really proud of him and happy to have him back.

Ken's parents came out from Vancouver for the graduation and to see Pearl. We had a wonderful visit, and we all stayed in Chicago for a few days.

We took Pearl to the Lincoln Park Zoo where she really enjoyed some of the critters, especially the ones that were more her size....

Here's a video of her saying hi to a curious penguin.

I was able to find a a perfect little out of the way corner in the gorilla hut to nurse Pearl. It was only after we finished that I noticed the photo behind me....I think this must be a zoo staff joke.

The weather in Chicago was incredible, Pearl was getting a little warm so we cooled off in a kid-friendly fountain. She loved splashing around in the water.

Our last stop in Chicago was to the Botanic Gardens, north of the city. They were incredible. We spent a full day walking around and still did not see everything. Here are a few pictures from the Gardens. It's my new favorite Chicago attraction.

We hope everyone is enjoying some summer fun!
