One Year Ago Today

One year ago today was the last day I was pregnant with Pearl. Ken and I decided to go for a hike at Butler Lake on that warm and sunny November day last year in order to "move things along." The walk and the eggplant parmesan that I made later that day worked: Pearl was born the next day at 2:38 in the afternoon. Today, on the anniversary of the day before Pearl arrived, the three of us decided to do the same hike. This time Ken carried the baby weight. The weather was very similar to how it was last year. Sunny, clear sky, and warmer than usual for a November day in Wisconsin. It was a great way for us to reflect on the wonderful year we've had with our little girl.
Trying out the new baby backpack we got from grandma and grandpa from Vancouver. Pearl seems to enjoy it so far....(this shot is taken at the trailhead)

Three minutes later....as you can see, Pearl's pretty excited about her new backpack...

Yay! Pearl's One tomorrow!
